Program Won't Open

I installed Audiveris for Windows, and when I open it, what appears to be a command prompt window opens for a split second before disappearing and then nothing else happens. (Widnows 10)

I have also installed it on Ubuntu using the instructions here (although they did not work, I had to do several searches online to get the thing to install without any errors), but even after all that it won't open there, either. (Ubutntu 20.04)

I'm having the same problem on Windows 10. When I try to open it there's a momentary flash of something and then it's gone. I uninstalled and reinstalled to no effect.
