On the home page, it seems that the timing to switch between the Carpe image and text, as well as that of Snowshoes, is not timed identically. Therefore, the text and the image slowly become more misaligned in time, leading to events where this can show up on the page:

We should check that the timers for these fire at the same time, and also check for any other factors of latency that are currently unaccounted for here.
