Subject: [Question] WH3MM adds "modded" tag when launching with no mods enabled, causing multiplayer version mismatch

Hi there,

Hope you're doing well! First of all, thank you so much for developing and maintaining WH3 Mod Manager — it's an amazing tool that makes mod management much easier for the community.

I'm writing to ask about a phenomenon I encountered recently while trying to play multiplayer with a friend. Below are the details:

Environment

Game: Total War: Warhammer III (both sides have identical version numbers)

Mod Manager: WH3 Mod Manager (latest version)

Trigger condition: Both sides launched the game via WH3MM with zero mods enabled

Phenomenon:

Image

My side (long-time installation, never reinstalled): The main menu shows "(modded)" suffix in the upper right corner

Friend's side (fresh installation): No such suffix

Launching via the official mod manager with no mods: Neither side shows "(modded)", and multiplayer works fine

Steps to reproduce

Both sides open WH3 Mod Manager, ensure the enabled mod list is empty

Click "Launch Game" button

Enter the main menu, check if "(modded)" appears below the version number in the upper right corner

Attempt to join multiplayer game, receive "version mismatch" error

Expected behavior

When WH3MM loads no mods at all, can it behave exactly like the official launcher without adding the "(modded)" tag, so that multiplayer compatibility is not affected?

Questions

Does WH3MM forcibly inject the "(modded)" identifier when launching with no mods? If so, is this intentional or does it only happen under certain conditions?

Is there a way to make WH3MM fully mimic the official launcher's behavior when no mods are loaded, avoiding the "(modded)" suffix?

Or is there a configuration option that controls this behavior?

One more thing: my friend uses the same WH3MM but did not experience this issue, so I'm not sure if it's related to some residual settings on my local machine. If you need log files, screenshots, or further testing from me, please let me know — I'd be happy to help.

Thanks again for your great work, and looking forward to your reply!
