Why doesn't NPM deliver the full buffer-api?

Hi, this is a great library!

I tried installing it with NPM, but I keep getting an incomplete version. However, downloading master as a ZIP works and runs fine.

I'm a bit of an NPM noob, but it's a shame this great library isn't easier to install.
