Setup Manager fails to run profiles and even deletes them

Hi there,

a bit new here and trying to modernize enrollment procedure at my org. Uploaded setup manager.pkg to my instance and made sure the .pkg is under packages in prestage enrollment with cloud distribution point assignment. When enrolling my test mac, setup manager starts but fails to insert the branded icons, it tries loading the icon, which i packaged beforehand and also put in prestage enrollment before setup manager.pkg in the list (log tells me, it does not even install the package with icons and pictures at all)

Additionally while observing the log while Setup Manager stage is on "Vorbereiten..." it says, that it detected multiple profiles which it installed but later on it automatically removes the detected profiles again.

So in summary i have two questions: Why isnt the package containing the pictures not installed by Jamf Pro? I created it via Composer and why does Setup Manager delete configuration profiles?

Nevermind, I totally forgot that packages in prestage need to be signed.

Regarding the profiles:

Setup Manager (as a local app) does not and cannot install or remove profiles. Only the device management service (Jamf Pro) can send the commands to install or remove profiles. Setup Manager includes the installations and removal events in the log, because they are very useful since certain kinds of profiles can cause issues when installed at the the wrong time during enrollment.

That said, having profiles being installed, and then removed is obviously not efficient and probably not what you want. You need to check the scoping of the profiles. For example, when you add a profile to the prestage but not scope it tot he computer, it will be installed at enrollment, but then removed quickly, since, well, it is not scoped and Jamf Pro determines it shouldn't be on that computer.
