🎯 What: The ToolCall::execution_subject method was lacking unit test coverage to ensure its derivation of execution subjects based on ToolPayload kinds returned the correct tuples.
📊 Coverage: The test suite now encompasses:

  • ToolPayload::LocalShell where cwd is explicitly provided.
  • ToolPayload::LocalShell where cwd is missing and should use the fallback.
  • ToolPayload::Function representing a normal tool payload lacking a shell execution wrapper.
Result: Enhanced test reliability guaranteeing that modifications or expansions to ToolPayload types safely resolve execution tracking contexts and directories.

PR created automatically by Jules for task 14270420329080243344 started by @Hmbown

Added comprehensive unit tests to `crates/tools/src/lib.rs` covering all paths
of the `ToolCall::execution_subject` method. This includes verification of
`LocalShell` with a specified working directory, `LocalShell` lacking a working
directory (falling back to a provided value), and non-shell tool payloads correctly
falling back to the tool's name and standard type execution kinds.

Code Review

This pull request adds unit tests to crates/tools/src/lib.rs to verify the behavior of ToolCall::execution_subject under different scenarios, including local shell execution with and without a custom working directory, as well as non-shell tool calls. There are no review comments, so I have no feedback to provide.

Important

The consumer version of Gemini Code Assist on GitHub is being sunset. Starting June 18, 2026, new organization installations will be blocked, and all code review activity will officially cease on July 17, 2026.
