the vendor-based version of the setup hasn't worked in quite some time, this at least makes the fastboot side of things have the right behaviour even if the Ember side of things still doesn't seem to be hooked up correctly 🙈
This PR prevents there being a runtime error for Ember 7 users, and should also make Vite happier (🤫)
