Sandbox Repository for Unofficial Saltbox Add-ons
Roles may get moved to the main repo if they become officially maintained.
Be aware that Sandbox is not a catch-all space for self-hosted software. Given the large number of existing roles, we are selective about new submissions.
Before opening a pull request for a new role, make sure it meets these criteria:
- The role aligns with Saltbox's purpose: media acquisition, collection, delivery, and server administration.
- The role addresses a genuine need from Saltbox users. We encourage opening an issue first, or creating a poll in our Discord server, to gauge community interest.
- The role targets an established project with active maintenance, solid documentation, and broad community adoption.
- The role is written and understood by a human. Please don't submit a role generated wholesale by AI.

If you'd like to see a new app added, open an App Request issue in this repository. Check the software against the Contributing criteria above first—a PR for a role that doesn't meet them may be rejected, so it's worth confirming before requesting.
Before opening a new issue, search existing ones to see if the app has already been requested. This repo auto-marks issues stale after 30 days of inactivity and closes them 5 days later. If a matching request exists, even one closed by the stale-bot, comment on it to revive it instead of opening a duplicate.
